“Put the camera away Oom...,” yelled Izza, my five – year – old niece, while trying to reach my camera with her one hand. She was trying to stop me from taking pictures of her brother, Dzaki, who was being circumcised on the operation table.
To me, the operation was short. To Dzaki, it was so long he kept screaming, asking the doctor to stop.
Being a seven year old boy and always compared to his school friends who had been circumcised, my nephew Dzaki finally decided to let his mom perform a minor operation on him. He was happy and kind of excited at first. But things changed as he entered the operation room.
His parents tried to set the mood by calming him down while the nurse was preparing the operation tools.
Well, this was actually what happened to most people when fears control their minds. Dzaki was sure that something dreadful was about to happen.
And yes, he was burst out crying as the nurse injected him with anesthetic.
I really don’t want to show you the details of the operation. I guess these needles, tweezers, and scissors have perfectly pictured the agony.
Izza really felt for her brother. She refused to go out and stayed to watch the operation with tears flew down on her chicks.
Hang on there Dzaki.
Finally, it’s a wrap.
Within less than a week, Dzaki returned to wear his pants and began to collect money by delivering rice boxes to the neighbours.
